Swedish Massage
A gentle modality designed for relaxation
and creating a general sense of well-being. Slow or brisk movements,
kneading and gliding strokes, along with gentle stretches, it
aims to improve circulation, relax muscles, improve joint mobility,
and it can take the stress out of your day.
Hot Stone Massage
This includes many different routines, including
patented styles such as "La Stone". I have also studied
a style based on Native American tradition, which views the body
as different totems with each of them symbolically performing
distinct functions. Aligning them all leads to increased vitality
and well-being. The heat from the stones penetrates deeply into
the tissues and lingers for hours afterwards.
Hawaiian Lomi Lomi
A centuries old style of mat work created
in Polynesia and eventually brought to the Hawaiian islands, it
is similar to Thai massage, but with distinct differences. Hawaiin Lomi
Lomi is a lifestyle practice; regular body work, cleansing and
spiritual focus. It was adapted to the table to allow tourists
to the Hawaiian islands an opportunity to experience a native
specialty. It is brisk and invigorating, yet very relaxing. "Aloha".
Deep Tissue Massage
A deeper form of bodywork than Swedish.
This massage is designed to work more thoroughly the areas of
your body that require release. More time and pressure is applied where needed.
Polarity
A form of bodywork that uses simple touch
and gentle rocking movements with the intention to balance life
energy by affecting general and muscular relaxation. It includes
the 5 principles of earth, water, fire, air and ether.
Pregnancy Massage
This modality can help relieve some of the
physical and emotional stresses women experience during pregnancy.
It can alleviate the strain put on the spine and lower extremities
by the extra weight gained while carrying a child, and can improve
circulation, joint movements and induce relaxation and well-being.
